Fuselage by Olga Mitterfellner: interdisciplinary artist and Central St Martins graduate.

"Fuselage" is the name of my label and really encompasses what I do. A Fuselage is by definition  (from the French fuselé "spindle-shaped") the main body section of an airplane that holds crew and passengers or cargo. The fuselage also serves to position control and stabilization surfaces in specific relationships to lifting surfaces, required for aircraft stability and maneuverability.
I have always loved aviation, the desire of humans to fly above the clouds and this is reflected in my designs: The clothes are a main body section which holds the person inside. It gives him or her ability to "maneuver" in society, to feel "up-lifted" and thus gives "stability". It is the desire to be in the clouds, in a world of dreams and gives the necessary structure.
